The Canadian Chinese Writers Association was established in Toronto.
(Huawen.com Toronto News) The Chinese Writers Association of Canada (hereinafter referred to as CWAC) was officially established in Toronto, Canada on March 2, 2024. Canadian Federal Members of Parliament Judy Sgro and Paul Chiang, and former Ontario Minister of Culture and Tourism, now Markham Deputy Mayor, Joe Li, sent congratulatory letters for the establishment of CWAC. Famous Chinese writers Han Shaogong and Xiao Jian, many famous writers from around the world who write in Chinese, Canadian Chinese artist Pang Zhilian, and other prominent figures from all walks of life, as well as institutions such as the Association of Chinese Journalists and Editors in Canada, sent congratulatory letters and telegrams for the establishment of CWAC. Markham City Councillor Amanda Yeung Colucci attended the event to offer congratulations. Writer Yan Fei was elected as the first president.

Director Pang Donates Calligraphy to Celebrate the Founding of the Canada-China Writers Association
The Chinese Writers Society of Canada (CWSC) is a non-profit organization registered with the Canadian federal government. Its members are Chinese writers, and its purpose is to unite Chinese-language writers in Canada and showcase Canadian multiculturalism. Canada is a nation that advocates for multiculturalism. With the increasing number of Chinese immigrants and the inclusiveness of multiculturalism, the number of Chinese speakers is growing. Chinese is the most complex and captivating script and language in the world. The CWSC is dedicated to spreading the beauty of the Chinese language, as well as the beauty of traditional Chinese culture and literature. Within the broad context of Canadian multiculturalism, it strives to promote and carry forward the traditional and national culture of the Chinese world. After a period of preparation, today's inaugural meeting elected the association's board of directors. The first board members of the CWSC include Yan Bo, Pang Jin, Yan Fei, Chen Hong, Lang Li, Zheng Nanchuan, and Yue Ren, among others. Yan Fei was elected as the first president.
The newly elected president of the Canadian Chinese Writers Association is writer Yan Fei, also known as "Yan Daxia." Before immigrating to Canada, he was the head and editor of a literary magazine in China. Yan Fei began his literary career in college and worked as an editor at a Beijing publishing house after graduating at age 20. His literary works, including novels, poetry, and essays, exceeding one million characters, have been published in literary magazines such as "Chinese Writers," "People's Literature," and "Tianya." He also published a full-length novel in "October." At 24, he left Beijing for Hainan, where he served as the supplement editor for "Hainan Special Zone Daily," assistant editor-in-chief of "Hainan Youth Daily," and deputy editor-in-chief and executive editor of the literary quarterly "Yecheng" of the Haikou Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He has published numerous literary works. His representative works include the Hainan dream trilogy, "Hainan No Dream," "Hainan Startled Dream," and "Hainan Seeking Dream" (China Social Press); the full-length reportage "Glory and Sin" (SanHuan Publishing House); the full-length novel "The Robbery" (Guangzhou Publishing House); and the essay collection "Yan Fei's Dream Talk" (Changchun Publishing House). His full-length works have been serialized in various newspapers and periodicals and have won provincial and ministerial literary awards, as well as literary awards from various organizations and publications. After immigrating to Canada, he served as the vice president and secretary-general of the Canadian Chinese Journalists and Editors Association.

The establishment of the Canadian Chinese Writers Association has garnered attention from literary circles around the world. During the preparatory period for the association, esteemed literary figures such as renowned writers Han Shaogong and Xiao Jian, as well as Jiang Yibin, Honorary Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Writers Association, all expressed their congratulations and well wishes to Yan Fei during their phone conversations. Ye Nianlun, founding president of the British Chinese Writers Association (son of Ye Junjian), and its current president Ms. Bing Ling, along with Lang Li, president of the Canadian Association of Women Writers, and Zheng Nanchuan, former president of the Quebec Writers Association, all sent congratulatory letters and telegrams.
Renowned writers such as Li Shaojun, editor-in-chief of China's "Poetry" magazine and chairman of the China Forestry Ecology Writers Association; Yang Haitian, editor and reviewer of "People's Literature"; and Wang Zijun, vice chairman of the China Copyright Association of Literary Works and council member of the China Prose Society, have sent congratulatory letters for the establishment of the Sino-Canadian Writers Association. Also expressing congratulations were Chinese-American writer and host of China Radio New York, Mei Jing; Tang Yongbei, publisher of the Tasmanian Chinese Newspaper in Australia; and Yuan Ye, president of the Canadian University Literature Association, along with council member Chen Gang. Vice chairmen of the Hainan Provincial Writers Association, Ai Zi and Peng Tong; council member of the Hainan Provincial Writers Association, Tang Yan; vice chairman of the Haikou Writers Association, Zeng Wanzi; and former vice chairman of the Haikou Writers Association, Ye Haisheng, also sent congratulatory letters and telegrams. Among Yan Fei's literary circle friends who expressed congratulations in various forms were Meng Yao, former deputy editor-in-chief of "Jin Gu Chuan Qi"; Wu Chunjie, former deputy editor-in-chief of "Ye Cheng"; and Wang Shu, former columnist for "Special Zone Daily."
The first board members of the Canadian Chinese Writers Association, including Yan Bo, Pang Jin, Chen Hong, Lang Li, Zheng Nanchuan, Yue Ren, and Yan Fei, are all writers who have achieved certain results in the field of Chinese writing.

Both writers Iwami and Pang Jin are highly acclaimed literary figures with extensive works.
Yan Bo, whose real name is Li Zhongyuan, is a prominent mid-career Chinese author. He has written more than 20 novels, including *The Republic of Ideals*, *The Red Star Chronicle*, *The Lockpicker*, *The Antiques Circle*, *The Peacock Painting*, *Wolf Mountain*, *The Pigeon King*, *The True Color*, *Eat Drink Man Woman*, *Office Romance*, *The Divorced Man*, and *The Covert War*, totaling over 6 million words and garnering significant acclaim in the literary world.Yanbo has been writing tirelessly for many years, winning numerous awards, with many of his works sold both domestically and internationally; he is truly a master of his craft.
Writer Pang Jin has currently published over 20 books, including "Customs of Dragons," "8,000 Years of Chinese Dragon Culture," "Chinese Dragon Culture," "Chinese Phoenix Culture," "Flying Dragon, Blessed Life," "The Charm of Dragons - 50 Lectures on Chinese Dragon Culture," "Chinese Auspicious Omens: Dragons," "Chinese Auspicious Omens: Phoenixes," "Chinese Auspicious Omens: Qilin," "Chinese Auspicious Omens: Pixiu," "Phoenixes Fly in Harmony," and "Dragon Sentiments, Phoenix Charm." He is an expert in dragon culture research and holds many social positions, including Chairman of the Dragon and Phoenix International Federation.
Chen Hong and Lang Li are outstanding female writers among Chinese immigrants in Canada.
Chen Hong, who also uses the pen name Princess Sissi, is a romance writer. She has published two best-selling Chinese novels: the romance novel "Running Towards Love" and the science fiction novel "Lavender Girl," which features superpowers and aliens. She has been very active in the arts and is known for her expertise in interviews and her promotion of Toronto's cheongsam cultural heritage. She is also one of the overseas inheritors of Yue Opera. Chen Hong has garnered attention through interviews with numerous domestic and international media outlets, including Sohu, Toutiao, and Times Media. She is a female writer with immense potential.
Lang Li, currently residing in Vancouver. Manchu ethnicity. In 1977, she was admitted to the medical department of China Medical University and worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist after graduation. She went abroad in 1988, experiencing various roles including working odd jobs, studying abroad, and engaging in business. She has 24 years of experience as a real estate agent. She has published the novel "Lang Gege's Vancouver House Selling Diary" and a collection of short and medium-length stories titled "Letting Go." Her works have been included in anthologies such as "Forty Years of Home and Country" published by Zhejiang Literature and Art Publishing House, and "Wen Zong" published in Hong Kong. In 2018, she founded the Canadian Women Writers Association and served as its president.
Zheng Nanchuan lives in Quebec. He is the former president of the Quebec Chinese Writers Association and the former president of the World Chinese Society's Canada Chapter. He has edited and published numerous Chinese literary works, including poetry collections, novels, and literary criticism such as "The Coincidence of One Shoe," "The Fallen Crotch," "Villas in Books," "A Blank Bird," "Two Women in the Window," and "Qin and Her Nissina." His works have been translated into Chinese, English, and French. Zheng Nanchuan is also a painter, and his art album "Impressions of Quebec" was published by China Science and Culture Press. He has received multiple awards for his poetry, prose, novels, and literary criticism.
Yue Ren, formerly known as Pan Ronghui. Born in Kaiping, Guangdong in 1967, settled in Toronto in 1992, and began writing poetry in 2013. Previously used the pen names Pan Yueyu and Xiao Ao Shi Hu. President of the Maple Leaf Poetry Society of Canada, former President of the North American Phoenix Poetry Society Canada Branch, and Director of the China Love Poetry Magazine Canada Submission Station. Has published numerous poems in poetry journals such as "Tiantian Express," "Toutiao," "Universal Poetry Society," "China Jujube Capital Poetry Society," and "China Yuntian Literary Society Australia Branch," as well as on platforms like the "Maple Leaf Poetry Society of Canada" and "Toronto Poetry Friends Association."
Newly elected board member of the Sino-Canadian Writers Association and veteran writer Pang Jin presented his calligraphy artwork as a gift to the inaugural meeting. The calligraphy reads: "Showcasing Chinese beauty, writing the truth of the world, promoting the goodness of all beings, and illuminating the sentiments of the heart." Board member Chen Hong (pen name Princess Xixi), due to her outstanding work ability, was appointed by President Yan Fei as the head of the association's public relations and liaison department. Other representatives attending the founding ceremony included: professional host Dan Chen, scholar Wu Sufang, popular influencer and emotional blogger Yuetao, education expert Gao Chenxi, classical poet Feng Wenjun, public welfare reporter Fang Hong, and computer expert Wei Ming.
