Splendid Chapters, Audiovisual Feast — Chinese Writers Association of Canada and the Recitation Arts Troupe Jointly Hold “Poetry Recitation Meeting”

(Huawen Network News) On the afternoon of April 19, 2025, the “Poetry Recital of Original Works: Poetic Sentiment and Artistic Heart,” jointly organized by the Chinese Writers Association of Canada and the Canadian Poetry Art Troupe, was successfully held in the auditorium of the Shuang Kuai Chinese School in Richmond Hill, Toronto. More than 20 performers recited nearly 30 poems created by members of the Chinese Writers Association of Canada, accompanied by music and stage art, creating a high-class, immersive audio-visual feast for the audience.

At the beginning of the poetry reading session, Yan Fei, President of the Chinese Writers Association of Canada, delivered a speech. He said: “Chinese is the most beautiful language in the world. Chinese writing, whether prose, novels, or poetry, has many subtleties. There is stream of consciousness, misty poetry, the avant-garde, and modernism. When it comes to poetry, it emphasizes rhetoric, rhythm, fluidity, style, and meaning. In this poetry reading session, among the submitted works, we have both established and accomplished writers and emerging literary talents, with an age range from 25 to 85 years old. From the numerous submissions, we have selected 25 poems to be presented to you by professional readers from the Canadian Recitation Arts Troupe. In summary, it is eight characters: magnificent works, an audio-visual feast.” Liu Moway, Executive Director of the Canadian Recitation Arts Troupe, said in his speech: “This event, from the call for submissions to today's presentation, has taken nearly two months. The selected works have been reviewed and edited by teachers Yan Bo and Pang Jin. Today, some of the authors will be present to share their creative backgrounds and experiences with you. Poetry is the river of the soul, and recitation is the oars and sails of the river boat. Poetry can inspire, can be appreciated, can be recited, and can be sung. I believe that today's recitation will have good results and reach a state of beauty.”
