Chinese-Canadian Writers Association Holds Symposium on “Novel Writing Experience Sharing”: Masters Share Personal Insights, Attendees Gain Immense Benefits
(Huawennet Toronto News) On May 25th, the Canadian Chinese Writers Association invited some outstanding novelists in Toronto to share their creative journeys and experiences, and discuss the art and mysteries of novel writing, which was welcomed by literary enthusiasts.
This event is hosted by the Canadian Chinese Writers Association and will be conducted both offline and online. The host is Gu Tu, a director of the Canadian Chinese Writers Association and a poet. Yan Fei, President of the Canadian Chinese Writers Association, attended the symposium and delivered the opening remarks. The offline event will be held in the spacious, multi-purpose conference hall on the 3rd floor at 8300 Woodbine Ave, Markham.

Well-known Canadian writers and cultural figures including Wan Mu, Jiang Ni, Wang Xianming, Chen Rong, Huang Zanyang, Qi Yaling, Lu Jie, Hui Wei, Lin Peter, Yang Ying, and host Dr. Ali, participated in the event and spoke actively at the venue. Canadian Chinese Writers Association directors Sun Ruixiang, Luo Yangfu, Zhou Zhihua, Fang Hong, Feng Wenjun, and cultural figures Liu Sihuan, Fu Ju, Feng Feng, Chun Zhi Meng, and Yi Ling shared and communicated online. Vice Presidents Yan Bo and Pang Jin, who were in China visiting family, were unable to attend online due to the time difference and sent their greetings and regards.




Stories, characters, plot, fantasy, prophecy, structure, and rhythm are all issues that novelists face during their creative process. How do successful writers handle these challenges? Which Chinese authors are most favored by overseas writers? What has been the most significant and memorable influence of these Chinese authors on foreign writers? Chinese writers at the event shared their creative journeys and unique insights, offering their personal creative experiences and writing tips to literary enthusiasts and aspiring authors.






This event is open to all members and non-members, taking place both offline and online. Some attendees participated in the lecture and discussion online. Female writer Chen Rong said, “Due to other interviews, I listened to the latter half of the seminar on my way and gained a lot.” Female writer Lu Jie said, “Through such activities, it is very meaningful to call for mission, expand forward, and inherit culture on the land of Canada.”
