The Canadian Chinese Writers Association held its 2025 Board of Directors election meeting on February 8th at the Toronto Chinese Community Centre. Renowned writers Jiang Zilong, Jia Pingwa, Han Shaogong, Xiao Jian, and Gao Jianqun sent telegrams of congratulation. Acclaimed writer Yan Fei was re-elected as President, and Yanbo Pang Jin was elected as Vice President.

The Canada Chinese Writers Association, with the aim of uniting Chinese writers and producing works and talents, and with the philosophy of flourishing literature and inheriting and promoting the excellent essence of Chinese culture and human civilization, has made an impact in the Chinese community since its establishment. Members are constantly producing works in various forms. President Yan Fei was awarded the Cultural Heritage Award by Senator Thanh Nguyen in 2024 and received praise and commendation from Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow. For the current leadership transition of the Canada Chinese Writers Association, Canadian federal Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, and Members of Parliament Jean Yip and Judy Sgro expressed congratulations through WeChat, phone calls, or in-person meetings with President Yan Fei and others. Renowned writers Jiang Zilong, Jia Pingwa, Han Shaogong, Xiao Jian, and Gao Jianqun also extended congratulations on the leadership transition of the Canada Chinese Writers Association via phone and WeChat. Li Shaojun, editor-in-chief of China's "Poetry Journal," Mei Guoyun, chairman of the Hainan Writers Association, Jiang Yibin, honorary chairman of the Hunan Writers Association, Yang Haitian, chairman of the China Forestry Ecological Writers Association, and Wang Zijun, vice chairman of the China Copyright Association, among other writers, also sent congratulatory letters and telegrams for the leadership transition of the Canada Chinese Writers Association, congratulating Yan Fei on being re-elected as president.
The Chinese Canadian Writers Association held its re-election meeting at the headquarters of the Federation of Chinese Canadian Organizations in Toronto. It was the tenth day of the Lunar New Year, and the joyous atmosphere of the New Year still lingered. Writer Yan Fei hosted the meeting. The first half of the meeting was dedicated to electing the new board of directors, with nominated directors taking turns to give passionate speeches. The second half of the meeting discussed the work plan for the New Year, with enthusiastic participation and a lively atmosphere. The meeting elected a new board of directors comprising 15 members. Yan Fei, Yan Bo, Pang Jin, Jue Min, Lang Li, Zhou Zhihua, Wan Mu, Jiang Ni, Gu Tu, Luo Yangfu, Sun Ruixiang, Wang Xianming, Chen Rong, Fang Hong, and Qi Yaling were elected as directors, forming the new board. Subsequently, vice presidents were elected, with the accomplished writers Yan Bo and Pang Jin being chosen. Finally, the president was elected, and writer Yan Fei was re-elected, securing another term.

The Chinese Writers Society of Canada (CWSC) is a federally registered non-profit organization in Canada. Its members are Chinese-language writers. Since its establishment, the society has actively organized a series of activities such as Chinese literature lectures and exchanges within the Canadian community, earning praise and making an impact in the Chinese community. The establishment of the Chinese Writers Society of Canada has attracted hundreds of Chinese-language writers to join. The association's headquarters are located in Toronto, Canada's largest metropolis, with members spread across Canada, including cities and regions such as Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, and Waterloo.

Canada is a country that advocates multiculturalism. With the increase in Chinese immigration and the inclusiveness of multiculturalism, the number of Chinese speakers is growing. The Canada-China Writers Association targets the Chinese community but also accepts Chinese writers from other ethnic groups. Since its establishment, it has collaborated with other Chinese community organizations to host and co-host various cultural and literary events. Notable among these are a series of literary lectures and Chinese ancient poetry recitations, which have helped discover and recognize outstanding Chinese writers like Dong Xiaohong.
Members of the Canada-China Writers Association love China and love Canada. They all hope the friendship between China and Canada will be realized as a beautiful vision and strive to achieve it. Chinese is the most complex and charming script and language in the world. The Chinese Writers Association of Canada is dedicated to spreading the beauty of the Chinese language, and the beauty of traditional Chinese culture and literature. Within Canada's multicultural environment, they promote and enhance the traditional and national cultures of the Chinese-speaking world. Chinese is beautiful, and literature is sacred. The Canada-China Writers Association plans to build and train a literary team of writers who can write in Chinese in North America, primarily of Chinese descent, while also cultivating writers of other ethnicities in Chinese.

A congratulatory letter from Jiang Zilong, honorary vice-chairman of the Chinese Writers Association, represents the common wishes and blessings of senior writers and all those who sent letters: “Congratulations to the Canadian Chinese Writers Association on the successful transition of leadership!
