(Toronto, Ontario – By Wen Jun, Huawen Net) Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow attended a community safety meeting and interacted with police and residents. Author Yan Fei met with Mayor Olivia Chow again.

On October 29th, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, City Councillor for Scarborough North Mitzie Hunter, and city officials attended a community safety working meeting for the Scarborough North community. This event was organized by the Toronto Police Service's 42 Division and relevant community organizations. Senior Inspector Li An and his police colleagues made an appearance at the Rouge Valley School gymnasium. The theme of the meeting was: "Working Together to Prevent Crime, Building a Safer Community Together." The meeting had a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, conducted in a lively and harmonious manner. During the event, Mayor Chow listened to Councillor Hunter and Senior Inspector Li An of the 42 Division present on community safety issues. She also interacted warmly with community residents and stakeholders, addressing and explaining concerns regarding community safety.

Invited by community friends, Yan Fei, president of the Canadian Chinese Writers Association, attended this meeting. Since Yan Fei had interacted with Mayor Joshuen prior to this, having been received by her, upon receiving information about this meeting, Yan Fei actually made a special trip to the site to pay a visit to Sister Joshuen. During the meeting, Joshuen kindly shook hands with Yan Fei and had a brief exchange of a few words, offering support, encouragement, and constructive criticism to the work of the Canada-China Writers Association from a high-level perspective, after which the two took a photo together again.

Writer Yan Fei also interviewed Inspector Li An of the Toronto Police Department's 42 Division, who presided over the meeting, and took a commemorative photo with him.
Mayor Olivia Chow and officers including Director Li An engaged warmly with residents, answering many of their questions regarding public safety.
