Praise for Modern Poetry: Three Poems
Huang Zanyang
I walked onto the street
I walked onto the street
I moved the trees to both sides.
I walk into the canyon
I split the tall mountain in half.
I walked into a big river
I pushed the riverbanks to both sides.
I walked into the wilderness
My shadow split into two.
I walked into the snow.
Footprints were carried far away by me
I walked into the crowd
A sword was thrown into the furnace.
Noise is the sheath of loneliness
The sword's edge needs starlight to be reforged.
Snow has more patience
On a higher cliff
Manifest into thousands of spirits
A scorching hot kiss
Rivers wandering the earth
A crystal heart, piece by piece.
The distant mountains of suffering ache.
Snow has more patience
To heal the earth's wounds
A lonely bird call
A half-cocked steel cannon
A pair of eyes peeking out from behind the door
A sudden ruin on the street
A loud noise in the depths of silence
A major event is unfolding
It shattered into pieces.
with a heroic fall from a cliff
To redeem this broken world
A complete pure white
Fossil
The tide receded
The tail fin swam deeper into the rock formation.
Wings descended from ancient times
Starlight recedes into the pupils
The long night tore open the brocade robe.
Time freezes in space.
Like a fish hidden among rocks
Dragon turns to stone
Ancestors carved themselves into stone
Stone brought them all to
The dry riverbed downstream
Claws, gaping maw, bow and arrow
Chase and Escape
The prey has been digested.
Everything is eternal in stillness
delicate bones
It's a key inserted into spacetime
Turn
The secret is opening
in the veins of quartz
The planet's ferocity is swelling.
