The current editor-in-chief, Li Shaojun, has grown from a grassroots editor to the head of *Poetry Journal*. He balances the quality of the publication with the promotion of public culture, such as by initiating the Youth Poetry Conference and supporting grassroots poets (like the delivery driver poets, Yu Xiuhua, etc.). He has boldly developed the journal through various cooperative activities (e.g., with *Chinese Fu* magazine, the China Poetry Network), consistently promoting poetry culture, bringing it into the public sphere, enriching the spiritual lives of ordinary people, and advancing the development of spiritual civilization. He has accomplished a great deal of effective work."

Chairman Jidimaga stated: “After carefully reading Shaojun's collection of classical-style poems, I believe this practice helps bridge the realms of classical and modern poetry, and also makes him an editor-in-chief of ”Poetry Quarterly' who is proficient in both ancient and contemporary styles. In this era, those who are still willing to frequently engage their souls and hearts with poetry are idealists. It can be said that poets are often 'good people,' and it is precisely the act of writing poetry that allows us to transcend the limitations of individual life cycles and contemplate the broader universe."

Poet and editor-in-chief of "Poetry Journal," Li Shaojun: I started writing traditional Chinese poetry a long time ago, but I always focused on new poetry creation. Writing traditional poetry was more like a daily habit, jotting down a few lines casually, like notes, jottings, or diary entries, and then setting them aside. Later, when I sorted them out, I found that these poems documented my daily life, my experiences, my feelings, and my observations and thoughts. They had a kind of authenticity that proved both the person and the poetry, so I began to take them seriously. I revised and organized them, one by one, and felt they were very meaningful to me, representing my personal history, emotional history, and spiritual history. There were also shadows of the era within them, a certain sense of the times and history, and thus they were officially published.

Poet and editor-in-chief of the Writers’ Network, Zhao Zhi (Bing Feng): It is truly gratifying that Brother Shao Jun has recently published his collection of classical-style poetry, "Collection of Sentiments." Its significance extends far beyond the publication itself; it lies more in the exemplary message it conveys. As the editor-in-chief of "Poetry Magazine," Shao Jun not only deeply cultivates new poetry but also achieves remarkable success in the realm of classical-style poetry, demonstrating a pioneering spirit.

Poet and artist, executive director of the Chinese Poetry Society, Xiaoxiao: Brother Shao Jun is a naturalist poet. His modern poems about his father still impress me. Today, reading his traditional Chinese poem "Remembering Grandmother" written in 1986, "Warming oneself by the fire before sleep in cold fur, the warmth remains even today, unafraid of the cold," makes one feel warm even in the cold winter. Reading his 2025 poem "To Ms. Shu Ting and Mr. Chen Zhongyi, Remembering Our Trip to Pinghai Ancient City," "Well walls protect old vines, with hanging Buddha's hand fruits." A natural and warm picture unfolds before our eyes, vivid and lifelike, just as Su Shi described Wang Wei's "Smoky Rain on Lan Mountain," with paintings in the poetry and a spiritual, dreamlike soaring and traversing.

Poet and Professor Bei Ta from Beijing Language and Culture University: From "Tian Ya" to "Poetry Magazine," Shao Jun as a literary editor has always demonstrated his open-mindedness and responsibility. The collection of classical poetry presented today is admirable and showcases his profound attainment in classical literature!

Poet and professor at Beijing Normal University, Tan Wuchang: As far as I know, Shao Jun began publishing classical-style poems at the age of twelve and has been writing diligently for many years. The publication of this poetry collection signifies the fusion of tradition and modernity in his creative work. The editor-in-chief of "Poetry Journal," like Zang Kejia as editor-in-chief, has a legacy of tradition. Looking back at tradition is not a regression but an absorption of nourishment for modern transformation and contemporary creation, facing the future and pushing poetry into a broader space.

Poet Liu Yage: Teacher Shaojun is an important contemporary poet, poetry theorist, editor, and poetry activist. His style is distinct. First, it is the poetry of nature, and the poet is also known as a nature poet. His works are filled with the spirit of nature that connects the past and the present. Second, the author has always been at the forefront of the times. As soon as AI emerged, he paid close attention to it and proposed its impact on writing. In this collection of classical-style poems, AI is also used to simulate the perspectives of classical poets like Li Bai and Du Fu to comment on the poems. This reflects the handshake and connection between classical and contemporary in poetry. Third, the poetic language possesses the natural beauty of classical, plain-spoken, clear, and simple styles. It is simple yet not simplistic, with a lingering charm. Teacher Shaojun's theoretical viewpoint of mutual verification between the poet and the poem is deeply convincing. For example, his works and his person are particularly congruent—gentle, elegant, warm, and affectionate. He shows genuine care and concern for poetry, poets, and young poets from the bottom of his heart. Beyond poetry, Teacher Shaojun's vision is broad and comprehensive. He is keenly aware of changes and developments in the times, always able to capture and grasp the most cutting-edge, futuristic, and potential directions and pulse of the era at the earliest opportunity.

Poet and Peking University language and culture scholar Xia Lu: After Mr. Shaojun became the editor-in-chief of "Poetry Journal," I feel that poetry has become popular again. Many initiatives by "Poetry Journal" have drawn more attention to poetry and rallied more writers. Today, after reading his new poetry collection, I am very impressed. As the editor-in-chief of "Poetry Journal," he leads by example with a high output across various themes, including the publication of poetry commentary collections. At the same time, Editor-in-Chief Shaojun is also a very powerful promoter of modern poetry.

Entrepreneur and poet Qiu Qixuan: I express my sincere respect for Editor Shao Jun's collection of traditional poetry. He proves the relevance of traditional poetry in modern times. Citing the example of American Poet Laureate Juan Herrera can illustrate the importance of cultural integration in bilingual writing. I believe the essence of poetry dissemination is language dissemination, and writers should first focus on writing in their mother tongue before considering broader dissemination.

During her hosting of the event, Xia Hua stated that the collection of classical Chinese poems created and published by Editor Shao Jun was a completely unexpected and pleasant surprise. His classical poetry is not only a "Collection of Sentiments" but also a testament to his continuous talent, from winning awards as a youth to this day.

Music producer Ye Yunchuan from the United States shared profound insights into poetry and the roots of life in his speech. He recounted his first experience purchasing a poetry collection by Chen Tianxi on Douyin. Chen Tianxi is a poet suffering from pneumoconiosis. Ye Yunchuan stated that poetry and art are expressions and celebrations of life, and that the uniqueness of individual lives is irreplaceable.

As an indigenous music producer, Ye Yunchuan favors roots music and has collaborated with friends from 50 ethnic groups in China and people of different ethnicities internationally. Roots music is also irreplaceable. Although individual lives are unique, they merge into a common life form as they flow towards the sea. And the exploration and experience of life never cease. Just as he wrote when he bought that poetry collection: “All those who shine with their lives deserve to be celebrated.”

After the seminar concluded, renowned Yi poet Anu A'bu reported to the attendees on the background of establishing the Amainiu Poetry Award, its selection criteria, and past award-winning situations. When discussing Li Shaojun's classical poetry, he stated: Shaojun's classical poetry works, with the natural world as the core imagery, directly pursue the spirit of classical poetry, while also integrating personal feelings and contemporary reflections. They possess both the rhythmic beauty of classical poetry and a contemporary perspective, meticulous observation, and new insights, making the “tradition” of classical poetry closer to the current context and showcasing the vibrant vitality of classical poetry today.

At the end of the event, Jaba A San, the first doctoral graduate in Ethnomusicology and Anthropology of the Yi ethnicity, musician, and folk poet, performed his original song "Morning Glow" on his instrument.

The elegant gathering successfully concluded after more than three hours. Everyone responded enthusiastically and extended warm congratulations on the publication of Teacher Li Shaojun's first collection of classical-style poetry, "Qinghuai Ji." The collection was highly praised for injecting a valuable new model into the contemporary poetry landscape from the perspectives of combining ancient and modern styles and integrating cultures.

Li Shaojun's Classical Poetry Collection "Sentiments Gathered" Spring Elegant Gathering in Beijing

[3

post-1975","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-zhongwenzuojia
["GET
